Cloud security company upgrades platform and adds new features to provide increased protection and performance for customers and users
Basingstoke – 7th April 2017 – Censornet, the complete cloud security company, has released several new features and enhancements to Censornet Unified Security Service (USS) as part of its on-going commitment to continuous product improvements. This latest upgrade positively impacts performance, reliability, level of protection provided and user experience.
As part of USS V1.12, businesses are now able to implement time quotas within the Web Security service, providing powerful and flexible policies for determining how much time a user or device can spend on certain activities within a 24-hour period. Quotas provide granular controls to restrict time spent using, for example, a particular cloud application through to time spent using high risk features within applications. The new feature allows companies to maintain productivity and effectiveness, while minimising risks associated with inappropriate web content or browsing behaviour.
In addition, the Web Security agent for Windows will now leverage the Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) API. The agent will seamlessly support a wide range of endpoint antivirus and protection products, reducing implementation and support issues and will enable future enhancements to detect and protect against a wider range of threats.
Other improvements include:
- Enhanced reporting with additional data – including browser used, software agent version in use, and country of user
- Ability to send email notifications when log data is archived
Improved scheduling system with checks to prevent large timespan reports from being run with high frequency, potentially impacting performance“We’re continuously looking for ways to not only improve the performance of USS, but also the user experience,” said Ed Macnair, CEO, Censornet. “Many of the features we’re announcing today are in response to requests from clients, but also reflect the changing cyber security landscape. We’re committed to providing our customers with unprecedented security in the cloud and these latest updates serve as further evidence of that pledge.”
