Ed Macnair
CEO
Ed Macnair is CEO and brings 30 years of sales and business development expertise in the technology and IT security industry to Censornet. He has a proven entrepreneurial track record of successfully developing technology companies and leads the company’s sales, marketing and product strategy.
He was previously founder and CEO of SaaSID, a UK based single sign-on and application security vendor, which was acquired by Intermedia Inc. in September 2013. Before Intermedia and SaaSID Macnair was CEO of Marshal, a global web and email security company which merged with US web security provider 8e6 Technologies to form M86 Security. Macnair has also held senior management positions with MessageLabs, Symantec, IBM and Xerox.
Steve Garnett
Non-Executive Director
Steve Garnett is one of the most pre-eminent figures in the European software industry. He has been a member of the executive management team of three software start-ups that have become some of the most successful software companies in history. Steve started his career joining Oracle Corporation in 1986. He held various technical and sales positions including director of UK sales, Vice President European Marketing & Alliances and was the youngest member of the European management team.
In 1996, Steve joined Siebel Systems as Vice President of Europe and a member of the founders circle. During his tenure, Siebel grew in eight years, from 100 employees to become the world’s 5th largest software company with 8,000 employees and a $60bn market capitalization at its peak. Most recently Steve has held the position of EMEA Chairman at salesforce.com.
Rupert Cook
Non-Executive Director
Rupert specializes in strategy and corporate development for cybersecurity companies, with 20 years’ experience in corporate finance and investment after 10 years spent as an entrepreneur and business leader. As well as being an active angel investor, both in the UK and the US,
Rupert is currently Chairman of Netacea Limited, Chairman of the Investment Committee and non-executive Director at BSC VCT PLC, and recently spent two years as Chief Strategy Officer of Immersive Labs Limited, where he remains a non-executive Director.
Vasile Foca
Non-Executive Director
Vasile Foca is a co-founder of Talis Capital and has been active in building and investing in companies for over 16 years. He is also co-founder of INTRESCO LTD, one of the largest private ship owners in Eastern Europe, along with Ukraine Capital Partners and Finch Investments.
Vasile is very active with the management of all portfolio companies, and sits on the board of NavMii, ShareThe, IWOCA and observer at FuelQuest, WeDemand and Cygnet Agroholding.
Vasile holds an MBA degree from London Business School and speaks Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish. He enjoys digital photography, psychology, wine tasting and traveling.
Tim Cagle
Non-Executive Director
Tim Cagle has worked in the commodities manufacturing and trading business for 30 years. Tim is currently President of E3Energie and Chief Investment Officer of TWC Capital. He currently serves on the board of several technology focused companies and as an advisor for Scottline Healthcare, a revolutionary blockchain based approach to health care reform.
Tim’s experience includes starting and funding new ventures, risk management, financial management and logistics. He graduated with honours with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981 and a MBA in 1987.
Tony Ball
Non-Executive Director
Tony Ball is senior vice president and general manager of the Secure Access business unit at Entrust Datacard, and leads the Global Channel and Alliance program for the business. He joined the company in September 2016 to provide leadership, global strategy and innovation for the access control and authentication solution segments.
Ball has deep industry knowledge and previously served as president of IAM for HID Global. He has held senior executive roles at HID, Gemalto and Schlumberger Technologies where he began his career with over 20 years in multiple leadership roles across the globe. Ball studied finance and business at Bournemouth University and completed the International Institute for Management Development executive leadership program. He also served on the Board of Aimetis prior to acquisition by Megal Security Systems.
Sem Alberga
Non-Executive Director
Sem is Investment Director in the corporate venture capital team of KPN in the Netherlands, with over 12 years experience in M&A and (VC) investing. Within KPN Ventures he is active in fields of cyber security, network technology, digital health and other telco related sectors. Sem is responsible for portfolio management of various portfolio companies of KPNVentures holding positions within Cybersprint, Actility, Viloc, Dimenco, Smart Photonics and Pharmeon.
Sem holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Finance & Investments, both from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
