Censornet has taken part in PWC’s programme for scale-ups in the cyber industry. The programme, designed to support the most innovative companies in the sector, represents an important strategic milestone in the company’s growth trajectory. Censornet was able to raise its profile, identify commercial opportunities and prepare for growth.
PwC developed the 10-week programme with CyLon to support high potential scale-up businesses focused on building a more secure and innovative digital economy. Eight of the brightest international scale-ups were selected as the cohort to undertake the business development curriculum, the first of its kind.
The programme culminated in an Executive Evening, a corporate pitching event, where the cohort presented to PwC and CyLon’s network of senior executives, industry thought leaders and decision makers. Participants were also able to draw on the expertise of PWC’s other Scale programmes, which have supported over 240 scale-ups to grow through various sector/regional focused groups.
Ed Macnair, CEO of Censornet, said: “Being selected to join such an exclusive cohort reflects Censornet’s innovative core, ambition and potential. The content and the networking opportunities the programme has provided would be compelling for any scaling business. We gained significant value from the advice and experiences shared by scale-up experts and coaches, and the opportunity to pitch to PWC and potential customers was invaluable.”
Richard Horne, cyber security partner at PwC, said: “Cyber security risk continues to rank highly amongst CEOs’ top threats to their organisation. We are therefore delighted by the programme’s role in combating the latest cyber threats and building a more secure digital society. It has also proved its ability to generate mutually beneficial commercial opportunities and relationships with established organisations.”
Grace Cassy, co-founder of CyLon, added: “We were able to draw on our experiences growing over 80 international cyber security companies to explain what makes a successful cyber business. We combined this with a unique combination of security, investment and business expertise to provide support and guidance throughout the programme.”
